About Us
Most people will never need to buy any more than two or three heating oil tanks in a lifetime. So, when the time comes to install or replace a heating oil tank, the terminology, regulations and sheer number of options can make what sounds like a fairly simple purchase surprisingly complicated.
That’s where we hope to help.
This website is independently written. It's published by Applied Marketing Management (AMM) and draws on more than 25 years’ experience in the heating oil tank industry. The aim is simple: to help heating oil users throughout Great Britain and Ireland understand their options and find the right tank for their home and circumstances.
We also hope to demystify oil tanks. That means explaining the differences between tank types, materials, capacities and features; making sense of the rules surrounding their installation and siting; and answering the questions people commonly have before, during and after buying a tank. Wherever possible, we do it in plain English — without jargon, gobbledegook or unnecessary technical waffle.
There is, however, an important limit to what this, or any other website can do. Heating oil tanks are not DIY products, nor are they something that can simply be fitted and forgotten. Correct siting, installation, inspection and maintenance are important for safety, environmental protection and the long-term reliability of your heating system.
